Misc Lightroom Plugins

These are offered with no guarantee, scant support, and very few instructions. (If you're nice I may try to help you with problems)

Unless otherwise specified these plugins are cross-platform (Windows + Mac).

As always, I'm interested in constructive feedback and problem reports - but please identify the plugin!

Custom Metadata v1.0.0 (Lr2 + Lr3)

Adds the following custom metadata fields to your photos:

• Properties: General purpose field for defining photo properties.
• Notes (Private): For notes not intended for the public eye.
• Notes (Public): Notes that may accompany an exported photo.
• To Do: Comments about what needs to be done with/to this photo.
• Edit Notes: Destructive edit history, or whatever you deem pertinent.
• Acquisition Notes: Describes details of image aquisition.
• Content Details: Notes about the content of the photo.

Note: Feel free to delete / change / add / modify these field definitions at will.

These fields are stored in your catalog, and presented in the bottom of the right-hand Library panel, and are available as Library Filters for filtering folders or for use in smart collections.

(Hint: Nothing special required to use this plugin - just add it in and the fields are there...)

 

Extract JPEGs From NEFs v1.1.0 (Windows Only)

NEF files have a full-size jpeg "preview" image stored in them - even when shooting RAW-Only. PreviewExtractor.exe can extract them. This plugin is a pretty simple wrapper that just invokes PreviewExtractor.exe on the folder containing selected photos.

Invert Tone Curve (Lr2 and probably Lr3) Deprecated -

- just use this preset instead.

Makes dark tones light and light tones dark. This plugin works the same way as XMP-Edit - by writing the inverted tone curve to an xmp file or jpeg file. TIF-based files are not officially supported, although you can use it on a DNG if you extract the xmp first using exiftool.

Folder Notes v1.0.0 (Lr2 + Lr3)

View/Edit photo folder or catalog notes from within Lightroom.

Lightroom Catalog Backup v1.1.0 (Lr2 + Lr3 )

Simply makes a copy of your catalog file in the same directory with a date suffix appended, and does not require exiting Lightroom. There are more complete and configurable backup solutions findable if you poke around, but if cheap and dirty (er, I meant "quick and easy") is all you need - this one's great.

PS - Version 1.1.0 fixes a problem that resulted in error when backing up large catalogs in Lr3.

Export Manager v1.1.0 (Lr2 + Lr3)

Initiates multiple exports. - You specify a list of export presets, and ExportManager initiates them one after the other.

Note: Although they are initiated sequentially, they may end up operating concurrently - depending on export plugin coding - and whether that works when two export presets target the same plugin, depends on the plugin. In particular note:

• TreeSync3 supports multiple simultaneous exports - I do it all the time...
• Photooey - depends on what is different between the two export presets... - not recommended.
